Dr.Piotr Bielaczyc has become a leading Polish researcher in the field of transport's environmental impacts. He is renowned for his expertise and experience in the ecological assessment of vehicles, aftertreatment systems and real-world emissions.
Dr. Piotr Bielaczyc, Ph.D. is the head of the Engine Research Department at BOSMAL Automotive R&D Institute in Bielsko-Biala, Poland. From 2000 onwards he has been the Head of BOSMAL’s Engine Research Department, recently involved in the validation of the WLTP and RDE test methodology.In the past 20 years he was a project manager for over 500 projects related to development of CI and SI Euro 4, 5 and 6 LD engines as well as Euro IV, V, VI HD engines.
Dr. Bielaczyc has published widely in scientific journals and is a regular participant at international automotive conferences.
He is a member of the UNECE GRPE group, the forum for world-wide harmonization of emissions regulation, he takes parts in WLTP, RDE, EVE and PMP groups and was a member of the EU WLTP 2nd group introducing WLTP test method in EU. He is currently also a member of the EU Advisory Group on Vehicles Emission Standards (AGVES) working on post Euro 6 and Euro VI regulations.
Over the past ten years he has organised and hosted a series of successful and well-received international automotive emissions symposia (IEES) as well as Congresses of Internal Combustion Engines organized by PTNSS.
He is a lecturer at the University of Leeds in England on its well-known NOx-PM courses; he also often lectures at other universities or scientific institutes.
